FAMILY HISTORY TREASURES

Volunteer Notes:

Special Unique Findings or Bible Features:
Kingsley Macomber is the one who gave us this Bible. His father was a judge in Los Angeles and this Bible was presented to him on his retirement. Kingsley gave us a lot of other old books for our personal use. Kingsley was a nice man who owned a big house in an elite older section of downtown L.A. which was being demolished to build a freeway. At the time, I was Rummage Collection Chairman for Pasadena Auxiliary of Boys Republic (world’s largest rummage sale). It was about 1959-60. Kingsley donated his entire library (about 600 books) to Boys Republic and Jack, Rick, Bob & I spent a Sunday afternoon loading them into our station wagon.
Thoughts From Our Volunteers:
What an interesting (and sad!) story of this Bible. I pray it makes its way home to a new generation!
