Passing of Mrs. Kate Heussmann
Katherine Elizabeth Heussmann passed away in San Francisco Tuesday, after an extended illness, at her home, 509 Grove Street. The deceased at one time resided in Santa Cruz and was a former wife of Joe Harveston, also well known here as a constable. Mrs. Heussmann was an ordained Spiritualist clergyman. While residing in Santa Cruz she was a spiritualist medium by profession and also conducted the old Waverly Lodging House. She was the mother of John L. Heussmann of San Francisco, Mrs. Violet Reed and Mrs. Lillian Sargent of Monroe. March 21st, 1922

Marine assigned to Asiatic Station – Wilfred A Long, 22, son of Mrs. Charles Long, 301 Bezzell street, East Palo Alto, who enlisted in the Marines last January, has been assigned to the Asiatic Station for duty, according to announcement by Marine Corps headquarters in San Francisco. He will depart from San Francisco on April 13th aboard the navy transport “Henderson”. While undergoing training at San Diego, Long qualified as marksman with the pistol and as an expert with the bayonet.
